The Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Liquid Foundation- Review and Swatches

I confess this was the first time I picked a foundation by The Body Shop after a lot of thought and confusions. As you all know my favorite foundation, which I reviewed HERE, got over and I was on the look for a nice foundation, with discounts and offers beaming all stores in Dubai, I couldn’t resist myself and succumbed to temptation at The Body Shop, Mega Mall, Sharjah. I bought The Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Liquid Foundation, and I will be reviewing it today.

The Extra Virgin Minerals range was launched by The Body Shop a few days ago in Dubai. This is the first mineral cosmetic range from the company. The range claims weightless, Non-irritating, non-comedogenic formula and paraben-free mineral make-up for all complexions and skin types.

The Extra Virgin Mineral Range consists of Cream Compact Foundation SPF 15, Liquid foundation SPF 30, and Loose powder SPF 25. I tried all the products at the store and I was amazed to see the results the range offers. Totally flawless and extremely gorgeous.

 My instant attraction towards this foundation because of the “extra virgin mineral” tag and further investigation made me fall with the ingredients of the foundation. I am impressed by the whole range, seriously. Now read on to find why it’s my HG foundation now on.

How do I use the Extra Virgin Minerals Liquid Foundation:
I use my brush to apply it, I use a kabuki brush and then stipple it in and then set it with a compact powder or a loose powder. That’s it!! I am done and ready to go.

Why should you buy the Extra Virgin Minerals Liquid Foundation:
• Firstly, if you are looking for your “HG” foundation, you may just find it in Extra Virgin Minerals Liquid Foundation.
• The ingredients bowled me over. Literally.
• The price is fab!! Do grab it soon, since it is on a discount now. 
• The quantity is huge. I mean it will last you for a long long time.
• A little is too much. 
• It is paraben free.
• It is non-comedogenic.
• There is a shade for everyone, and the Golden Vanilla shade, which I picked for myself, gives my skin a natural finish.
• The foundation has a dewy finish, not a matte one.
• It has this fine fine shimmer to it, but it is hardly seen through the packing, but it does not mean that the foundation is too shimmery or obviously dewy. No it is not. It is somewhere in between a matte foundation and a dewy one.
• The foundation claims a light to medium coverage but for me it seemed almost a full coverage formula. I didn’t really need a concealer under the eyes after this. 
• It has SPF 30. 

foundation applied

• It spreads on so beautifully, and I do not really need to amalgamate it with a moisturizer too for a smooth finish, since it already a claimed moisturizing foundation. You do not need a lot of efforts to blend and settle it.
• It stays on for hours, I applied it in the afternoon around 3 and it stayed intact till I got back home at 1 am yesterday.  Of course I used blotting paper a couple of times, since I have a combination skin and the dewy finish of the foundation tends to make my skin a healthy looking oily skin, so the blotting sheets just suck up the excessive oil. 
• It doesn’t need a lot of touch ups, using your compact atleast once when we are out, is the birth right of WOMEN. So that’s all you can do, but this one touch up is also optional.
• The foundation holds on my blush and other make up very well. It makes it appear a tad more glossy and beautiful, and for a longer time ofcourse. I have a thing for shiny-dewy make up.  It’s an awesome base.
• It is suitable for all skin types and kinds.
• It doesn’t transfer onto blotting sheets and tissue papers. 
• It didn’t break me out. 
• It doesn’t fade. Like it’s there always, and when you think it is fading one touch up is enough to set it right.
• You do not need the tinted moisturizer, concealer or primer when you use the Extra Virgin Minerals Range Liquid Foundation.
• I do not use the primer usually, but at times the area under my eyes and near the nose tends to show up some pores but this foundation covers up those pores. I do not need my primer anymore. 
• It is has a very mild fragrance, almost fragrance free.
• This is an everyday foundation for me, as I mentioned before I have thing for shiny-dewy make up.  Although I love matte finished make up too.
• It works gorgeously with mature skin too.  It covers my mum’s blemishes, and pore beautifully. :) I do not mean clog pores. 

Why should you skip the Extra Virgin Minerals Liquid Foundation:
• If you need a matte finish, this isn’t for you.  Although you can get a matte finish if you set it with a good loose powder or compact.
• Oily skinned ladies, stay away, this will accentuate your oiliness more. 

Final Verdict:
I love love love this foundation. I recommend it to everyone, this range is a MUST try.  I am getting the cream foundation and loose powder from this range for sure.  Sooner or Later. 
