Dove Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Deep Repair Treatment Mask Review

Dove Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Deep  Repair Treatment Mask Review

I just realized that I use so many dove products! I use their soap, shower gel, deo, shampoo, conditioner, and I even use dove soap on my baby! Well, the reason I do, is not really because I think it gives me the best results, but more because I kind of trust it not to do anything bad to me :P I know that there is a big fan following for Dove products out there, so don’t kill me! :P Anyway, to be honest, it leaves you feeling nice. Their soaps and shower gel leaves skin feeling good. I have been using their shampoo and conditioner everyday for the last 2 years and I have to admit, it leaves the tresses feeling nice, while at the same time it doesn’t feel like you are torturing your mane with products… Dove is a brand that leaves you feeling taken care of in a gentle way. So with my undying commitment to trying all their products, I obviously jumped when I saw this hair treatment mask. So today I will be reviewing the Dove Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Deep Repair Treatment Mask from their Damage therapy line.

This looks quite cute… the shape of the jar is very different from anything else we’ve ever seen. I comes in an opaque white jar with a big mouth. We have to scoop the product out with our hands, which may not be very convenient.

My experience with the Dove Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Deep Repair Treatment Mask :
The product itself is thick and creamy in texture. I used this mask after shampooing and condiotioning with the intensive repair shampoo and conditioner. I apply a large amount all over my mane, and leave it on for at least 5 minutes. On washing the product out itself I find that hair feels very silky and moisturised, a little more than what we feel when we rinse out conditioner. But after my hair dried, I didn’t really feel any extraordinary change in texture or appearance as compared to without using this product. I was expecting it to shine MORE, or be more silky, but it just almost felt the same, maybe just a wee bit better than usual. I guess I am comparing this mask to a mask by loreal that I have used a while back.. The loreal mask definitely gave me the results, and unfortunately I was let down, maybe because I was expecting too much? Anyhow, the end result was healthy shiny mane with a gentle fragrance. So I would say this is not a luxury product, but it is definitely fit in with our regular hair care routine without weighing the tresses down too much.

Pros of Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Deep Repair Treatment Mask :

• Thick and creamy in texture.
• Leaves hair feeling healthy and nice.
• Perfectly complements the shampoo and conditioner in this range.
• Can be used weekly or even more as per requirement.
• Does not weigh hair down.
• Affordable.

Cons of Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Deep Repair Treatment Mask :

• Results are not spectacular.
• The shine or silkiness of hair after using the mask is just regular.
• The packaging- the big open mouth may be inconvenient for some trying to get product out without getting bath water in.

My verdict:
I like the product just because it is dove, and I wouldn’t mind using it every week, just because. :) But I would not recommend this product to anyone looking for really intensive and deep repair treatment for their hair- it’s not strong enough.
