Naturally Pink Lips  : Home Remedies for Pigmented Lips

Hope you all are doing fabulous! Sorry for going missing for a week but we were just working on some technical issues of the website and now we are back. With a bang, hopefully! Today I thought of sharing some effective home remedies for pigmented lips. I shall elaborate on the causes of this in the coming articles.

To start with, water deficiency in the body causes skin pigmentation or pigmentation of the lips in general. So, ample water intake ensures riddance from pigmented lips. Water basically flushes of the toxins from the body.

Apart from this, here are some instant home remedies for pigmented lips.

  • Rub some lime juice on your lips before going to bed and then coat on some lip balm. Do this on alternative day basis, do not do it on daily basis.
  • Sunrays are the biggest enemy of your skin in general, and they do harm the lips too, so pat on some sunscreen (read: lip products having sunscreen on the lips).
  • Simple, edible butter  is a great moisturizer and this also helps in clearing pigmentation so just rub in some butter over your lips before going to bed, if you feel a bit *eeeky* about it you can have a lip balm over it.
  • Apple cider vinegar is simply the best remedy for almost all skin and pigmentation issues, this works nice for pigmented lips too, take a cotton ball and dab on some apple cider vinegar before applying your lip balm.
  • Bananas, yes you read it right. Mash up a ripe banana and add some honey and yogurt to it, no don’t eat it, apply it on your lips and let it be on for some time may be an hour or two and then wash away.
  • Paste up some toothpaste on your lips early in the morning and before going to bed, I usually brush up my lips after or whilst brushing my teeth. :P  This is a sure shot workable remedy.
  • Mix honey and lemon juice and apply it on your lips and let it be there for some time. Wash it later.
  • Honey and glycerin together also work wonders for lip pigmentation.
  • Do not drink overly hot tea or coffee.  In fact don’t eat anything which is extremely hot.
  • Smoking cigarettes also get your lips to be pigmented.
  • Rub yogurt on your lips.
  • Exfoliate them with a sugar and edible oil scrub.
  • Take a piece of papaya and rub it on your lips. This apparently cures lip pigmentation.
