Lush Emotional Brilliance Lip Products - My Experience

Hope you are doing great! I am really eager and excited to share Lush’s exciting new range – Emotional Brilliance. I have been looking at promos, videos, teasers (Check HERE) and what not to just get an idea of what this emotional brilliance is all about. They launched this concept on 21st July, and I rushed to the Lush store in Dubai Mall. When they unveiled the concept of emotional brilliance, I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes! So here I am, going to share my first impression with you all.

So what is emotional brilliance all about? It’s a line of make-up that includes almost everything – mascaras, liquid lipstick, liquid eyeliners, cream eye shadow liners, translucent face powder, and skin tint! WOW! I think that’s a really huge range. The make-up range is more to do with wearing the colors that shape your mood rather than what’s in the season. What I really love about Lush is that they always design their products in such a tailored way that you really feel like they are just meant for you.

Here’s how it went. They sat me down and explained that the idea behind this new range of colors – a kind of therapy where you can pick them as per the way you “feel”. There was this really unique, attractive and colorful spinning wheel in front of me. I was asked to close my eyes, and clear my mind.

When they asked me to open my eyes & when the wheel stopped spinning, I had to pick out three colors that stood out to me the most. Each color has some personalized reading that I thought was so accurate for me at that moment. So I picked – “Strong”, “Power” and “Drive” which was so apt for me at that instant – I was totally amazed! Fortunately or unfortunately, I chose all lipsticks. So, I am going to review them for you right away!

Product Claims:
Intensely skin softening and soothing, these lip colors also carry pigment incredibly well. Lips will be brilliantly colored and left soft, smooth and deeply moisturized.

Ingredients:
Jojoba Oil, Candelilla Wax, Rose Wax, Titanium Dioxide are most of the natural ingredients that the products are made out of.
Price, Quantity & Availability: You can get a 5g bottle for about AED 80-85. And it is available at Lush stores all over the world – so you can find them practically anywhere.

Packaging:
I would say that the packaging gives me a typical LUSH feel of handmade product. When I first saw the external look– I thought it was so unique, one would never imagine a lipstick coming in a glass vial with a medicine dropper lid. In other words, the medicinal feel makes it appear like those are your prescribed colors. The applicator inside is just a normal wand.

My thoughts on the Lush’s fresh handmade lipsticks:

I think the idea is totally awesome! I was really fascinated with the reading as it revealed the state of my mind at that time. From the three colors that you pick, the first color symbolizes your strength or weakness, the second signifies your subconscious need and the third represents your talent.

So as my strength or weakness, I picked “strong” and according to the reading it was exactly what I needed to feel at that time. This color symbolizes ASPIRATION or TALENT. This colour will strengthen the quality that needs to be enhanced and it represents the talent you need to take you anywhere you need to go.

My subconscious need was that I had a “drive” to achieve something. This color strengthens the quality that needs to be enhanced and it represents the talent you need to take you anywhere you need to go.

And finally “power” was my talent which I use very well with people :P . This color basically says that I have the talent to use my POWER and get what I need or want, it advises me to use it without force. Don’t get what you want but lose all your friends. Lets go for the win-win here.(not very true, but I think I do at times)

Overall this experience was more fun that I thought it would be.

The colors seem to be very pure and basic with a unique texture. The best thing about these is that they are totally pigmented and opaque, based on how much you apply. Once applied, these colors do have a strong lasting power, which is especially good when using lipsticks as you don’t have to keep applying again and again. I would say these lipsticks feel more like a lip cream rather than lip gloss. They are smooth when you apply and feel very comfortable on the lips.

On the whole, I think the Lush Emotional Brilliance has an exceptional and great line of color. The whole concept of attaching your emotions with a color is totally intriguing! The price is a bit of a luxury which did take some time for me to decide if I should buy it or not. Part of the reason that helped me make my decision is the genuineness of the product – the natural ingredients, so you don’t have to worry if your pretty much end up eating your lipstick.
