Combination Skin Care : Lush Love Lettuce Face Mask
Hello Ladies,
Hope you all are having a lovely Friday!! Today I am reviewing one of my latest purchase from Lush, the Lush Love Lettuce Face Mask. So let’s get started.
Product Claims :
Lettuce show you the way to lovely skin
This mask is a seaweed gel with exfoliating granules through it.
Ideal for those who want to clear away dead skin and brighten the face, whilst also gently treating it to softening ingredients.
Ingredients :
Agar Agar Gel, Kaolin, Honey, Fullers Earth,Glycerine, Almond Oil, Ground Almond Shells,Ground Almonds, Lavender Oil, Chlorophyllin,*Geraniol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Perfume
*occurs naturally in essential oils
Textile workers, or fullers as they were once called, would clean raw wool by kneading it in a mixture of water and fine earth. The ‘earth’ consisted of a number of clays. This process cleaned the fibres by absorbing dirt, oil and other contaminants.
First we make a seaweed gel using agar, then we add honey and almond oil to soften and moisturise the skin. Kaolin and fullers earth deep clean, absorb grease and debris and tighten the skin. Finally there are ground almonds and ground almond shells, so that when you come to wash this off with water, you can work it over your face for a few minutes to exfoliate away dead skin.
Simply fragranced with 100 percent pure French lavender, to balance the skin’s sebum production.
Ground almond shells are a good natural exfoliant. They are rough enough to give a good scrub, but soft enough not to damage the skin. Every skin is different, and you decide how much pressure to use and how long to scrub for.
All our fresh face masks are preservative-free and should be stored in the fridge. If ordering outside the UK, longer delivery times may affect the quality of the product, so this may not be a good choice for overseas customers. You may like to try Mask of Magnaminty instead , as this does not require refrigeration
Price :
It retails at about 40-50 AED for about 50 g of the product.
Packaging :
Lush Love Lettuce Face Mask comes in a regular black pot.
My Thoughts On The Lush Love Lettuce Face Mask :

Just for your reference, I have combination skin. I went ahead for Lush Love Lettuce Face Mask since I wanted something that would mildly exfoliate my skin as well as cleanse my skin thus making it clearer and brighter. I was advised for this one by a Lushie at the store.
Lush Love Lettuce Face Mask is meant for normal to oily skinned people, and I can fit in this category during summers, since my t-zone gets really oilier during these times.
Lush Love Lettuce Face Mask is a fresh mask and has this pistachio green color to it and the texture is granular. It has these chunks of green lettuce too. Along with these bigger chunks there are also the minute ones, which reach into the pores and deeper superficial layers of the skin.
Even though it has this granular texture, it exfoliates mildly without being too harsh on the skin. However if you have acne prone or sensitive skin types, you may feel that this is a tad harsher on the skin.
It is one of those masks, which I apply when I want my skin to retain its softness and texture. I apply it as regularly as I can and when I decide on washing it after about 15-20 minutes, it never fails on giving me clean, soft and hydrated skin.
The ingredients of the product, are something to watch out for especially during summers , and specifically if you have oilier skin types. It has fuller earth which sucks up the excessive oil from the skin and ensure that the oil is pretty controlled atleast for a couple of days. It is totally a summer mask, and I wouldn’t really pick this up in winters since it may dry up the skin then.
For the quantity you get for 40-50AED, it works for atleast 6-8 applications but it has a shelf life (approx 3 weeks) , so you have to use it up within that time frame. Also because of this, I wouldn’t recommend you to go and get the huger pots of the product.
It smells quiet mild to me, but yes, it does have this base notes of fuller earth and the top notes go a little lavender-y and floral, but nothing too heavy on the nose.
Lush Love Lettuce Face Mask would be a regular pick for me, since it makes my skin incredibly soft and supple. It does not leave dry patches on the face.
What’s to LOVE about the Lush Love Lettuce Face Mask :
• Mild scent, preservative free
• Leaves the skin soft
• Hydrates
• Doesn’t break me out
• Cleanses
• Exfoliates
• Brightens
What’s to HATE about the Lush Love Lettuce Face Mask :
NOTHING!! Except for the fact that it has a shelf life.
Final Verdict :
Lush Love Lettuce Face Mask is a total grab for summers, it is a perfect face mask for the normal to oily skin types. It is a holy grail material for combination skinned ladies. It certainly shall tend to be a little harsh on the sensitive skin types, but then it is simply not meant for it. I am totally recommending it to you all. Also if you have 5 empty tubs from LUSH you get a fresh mask free, so you can go ahead and try this one I guess.
