Nivea Straight and Easy Hair Balm Review

Straight, sleek and shiny hair that is frizz free is every woman’s dream. My quest for the right products for achieving this is on and I end up buying those products that claim to do the same. And, that is how on a normal week day shopping at Choithram in Jumeirah, I saw this little pink beauty glowing on the aisle. Today I’b reviewing the Nivea Straight and Easy Balm Review for you.

I told myself NO NO NO keep walking and just ignore. I felt like she was whistling at me and I just turned back to say a No. But then this caught my eyes:

Easily spreadable and beautifully scented white colored magic potion (is that so much of an exaggeration? :p)

Over view based on the website:
Straight & Easy Straightening Balm guarantees straight, shiny hair immediately and long-lastingly. It guarantees easier and faster straightening with a hairdryer, without the need of a brush. Straight & Easy Balm protects your hair effectively from humidity and thus makes the straight effect last longer.

Its formula protects your hair from blow-dryer heat and adds seductive shine.
• Provides straight, shiny hair even without iron
• Easier and faster straightening
• Immediate and long-lasting
• Humidity, heat and frizz protection

Application Tip (Website):
• Apply the product to damp hair and comb through with a wide toothed comb for even distribution.
• Always use a nozzle on your dryer, hold the hairdryer above your head and point the heat downwards in the direction of the cuticle of the hair.
• Use a big round bristle or ‘paddle’ brush and brush the hair downwards whilst following with the dryer – this will allow the cuticle of the hair to lie flatter and give maximum shine.
• As the hair dries, sweep it gently from side to side to add movement without losing the straightness. Make sure the hair is 100% dry and keep brushing the hair in all directions around the head for best results.

My thoughts on the Nivea Straight and Easy Balm:
Okay, so I am not really a lot into blow drying. My hair is curly and I tend to like my curls for they are well defined, give me a cute girly look and most importantly my hubby adores my long curly hair (blush blush). Having said that, for certain parties and special occasions I would like to have a different hair style and that is where the importance of this products comes in. This product was used on my well shampooed hair and I instantly fell in love with its fragrance. I am not a blow drying expert still I could easily get the desired result with this product. Straight hair with 98% less frizz. After 2 weeks, I used this product after shower and went to a salon for blow drying( as I mentioned I am still mastering the blow drying technique) to see the results. The beautician started with the process and in less than 10 minutes I had sleek straight hair with healthy shine and my beautician asked me if I did hair spa..wow!!

Once I returned home I smeared very little amount of the Nivea Straight and Easy Balm on my split ends and they were instantly sealed. My hair were at its best and for the very first time I did not think about fly aways. I did not wash my hair for the next 24 hours to see what happens with the straightening effect and to my surprise the result remained the same until I washed it off.

I should say the Nivea Straight and Easy Balm is a must have for those women looking for beautiful hair in a few minutes. This is a must have for those who are not skilled at blow drying and specifically for those who wants straight hair without the use of iron.

Pros of the Nivea Straight and Easy Balm:
• Smells lovely
• Takes frizz off my hair
• Straightens without iron
• Reduces flyaway hair
• Seals split ends
• Brings a healthy shine to styled hair
• Long lasting effect (hair goes back to normal only after washing)
• Affordable
• Makes hair soft

Cons of the Nivea Straight and Easy Balm:
• Has silicone contents
• Has paraben
• You cannot stop touching your hair :p (is that supposed to be a con? )
• Not available in all shops throughout UAE

Will I buy the Nivea Straight and Easy Balm again?
Yup, until and unless some other product does not come to compete with this I would definitely repurchase the Nivea Straight and Easy Balm for those last moment parties and get togethers. Definitely not a daily use product though.

Rating:
4/5 ( well parabens and silicones are not very impressive so had to give a minus point)
