Summer Tips : How To Keep Eyeshadow From Creasing

Hello Ladies,

I have done an article on the similar topic HERE, but I thought of doing a quick post on how to keep eyeshadow from creasing especially during the summers when the sun gets the worst in this part of the world, and most of us prefer skipping out the eyeshadow part! So let’s get on with it!!

First and foremostly, start with a moisturized and clean skin! Make it a point to use a cleanser or toner to clean the lids before applying makeup. Ensure that the skin is dry.

Next, the base, during summers ATLEAST when you are applying your base makeup, be it the foundation , the primer or the illuminator, do not exclude your eyes off from this process! Apply these over your eyes too. Apply foundation on your eye area, this gives a better canvas for eyeshadow application and also gives the shadows vibrancy and grip to hold on to the skin.

Primer! Use an eyeshadow base or a primer, this keeps your lids from getting oily. Use the primer above the lids upto the brow bone, and even at the lower lashline and inner corner of the eye, this helps the shadows to stay on for long hours.

Use powder!! I do not recommend layering on the lid with powder, since this shall further cause creasing, so just swirl your brush lightly after a foundation application over the lids, and do the same after primer application.

Do not use concealer over the lids. This is where we all tend to lose it!! I mean we conceal our under eye circles and use the remnant product as primer, which is absolutely causes a BLUNDER!!!! Concealer is too thick and creamy and it is bound to crease and cake with passing time!

Do not layer the products. Atleast for summers, stick to one product as much as you can. If you are using a power eyeshadow, use only them, if you are going for a cream one, use only that!! If you want to use both in combination, skip out some steps from the base makeup for your eyes, which may cause creasing.

Stay away from shimmer! During summers, your face tends to get shiny and oily, and in such conditions, shimmery shadows are the last thing to use. So avoid shimmer as much as you can.

Frankly speaking, I just stick to eyeliner and a little brush of color over the lids, and nothing else for summers!! I have been trying these tricks lately and they seems to have been working for me in these scorching UAE summers!
