Top Acne Myths
Hello Ladies!!
I read a fantastic article yesterday about the top oily skin myths and then I sat down to recollect all those things which I have been hearing about acne and related issues, which used to freak me out a couple of years ago, but now I only laugh out on them!!
First and foremost, junk food causes acne!! I mean to an extent it is true, that oily and fried food does contribute to oily skin to an extent, but they do not cause ACNE. If you have an oily skin type, you must restrain and control over fried and junk food, but once a while succumb to temptation and eat to your heart’s content. FOOD DOES NOT CAUSE ACNE
Wash your face regularly. Alright, now this one was my mom’s favorite. She used to love saying this to me. :P Now to an extent it is true and to a very large extent it is false. Washing your face very often can cause drying of the skin thus causing breakouts. Also do not exfoliate a lot. Keep it light keep it sensible for mid day oiling of the face, use blotting sheets.
Acne is for teenagers!! Hello!! NOT TRUE!! Mum is in her early forties she still gets breakouts and acne issues.
Nothing can treat acne!! One of the most said myth. A right DERMATOLOGIST and the right products will help you!!
Get your face steamed!! EEEEEEEE….freaks me out!! I don’t even want to elaborate on this one! Pleaseeeee!!!
Any more myths on ACNE? Have I missed anything?
