Velour Mink Lashes Review

Hello Emirati Makeup and Beauty readers!

I’m sure all you ladies out there have experienced the great feeling of trying a new makeup product, which beautifies your natural features. For myself, anything which can bring me one step closer to achieving the best looking eyelashes is extremely exciting! With my birthday recently passing last week, I was lucky enough to receive amazing new makeup and beauty products from my closest friends and family. They know me so well! Have you ever wondered how Kim Kardashian or Jennifer Lopez achieves such long, beautiful yet natural looking eyelashes? One of the products I have had my eyes on for a while, are the Velour Mink Lashes. They promise to be 100% authentic mink fur which instantly gives you the natural, eyelash extension look all the celebrities pull-off so effortlessly. Somehow, achieving the effortlessly sophisticated look with eyelashes other than your own seemed too good to be true. I have previously had bad experience with actual eyelashes extensions which I had done at a department store in a London shopping centre, so this is a great alternative. I found eyelash extensions extremely irritable and wonky, to the extreme that I had a few hairs on my upper eyelid disrupting my eyesight and ended up pulling them out myself!

Once tearing open my birthday wrapping paper, I was pleasantly surprised by how well packaged the Velour Lashes were. Cleverly presented in a purple box which comes with a satin string to help open the flap lid carefully, I was impressed from the word go!

The eyelashes are noticeably natural and soft, they look and feel just like natural lashes. The website offer a selection of upper and lower lashes, perfect for different occasions and desired looks. The ones I received were upper lashes – ‘Strike a Pose’ which are soft, thick and long and do not look fake at all. I was initially sceptical about how they would photograph, as that is just as important to me as how they look in real life.

Price and availability:
Velour lashes are undoubtedly pricier than your average high street synthetic false lashes as they are approximately £25 – £30, although they have the durability and high quality which allows you to use them up to 25 times – if cared for correctly. The availability of these lashes is not particularly great as they are mainly only able to securely purchase via the direct website.

Here’s how the lashes look!!

Here's how they look on me!

The ultimate Pros of the Velour Mink Lashes:

* Simple to apply, they do not have the stiff, plastic band which other artificial lashes have

* They look natural enough for all ages and occasions

* 100% authentic mink fur, without causing harm to the animals

* Sterilised for safe, non-allergenic usage to avoid irritability

* Can be used up to 25 times

The Cons of the Velour Mink Lashes:

* They are expensive

* Not widely available in department stores to see the range in real life before purchasing

* Unable to apply mascara to the lashes for a darker, smokey look

My final verdict on the Velour Mink Lashes:
I absolutely love these lashes; I wish I had discovered them earlier! I will definitely be re-purchasing from the website to try out other styles and looks. The particular pair I have – ‘Strike a Pose’, is extremely versatile and are perfect for going out during the daytime and evening. I wore mine for my birthday outing during the day leading into the evening and they were perfect and extremely comfortable. It is rare and usually difficult to find a pair of false lashes which are light and simple enough to wear during the day without your makeup looking too exaggerated. I am a huge fan!
